  • Parker Training Systems has developed a testing process that has produced a 90+ percent passing rate amongst our students that have completed our courses and then taken the NAHI Certification Examination. Our Practice Certification Exams will lead you through the material that is normally found on the NAHI Exam and prepare you for the OnLine Exam process.

  • This course is designed to provide knowledge of blended standards and practices of current ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) and NAHI (National Association of Home Inspectors).

    Topics include:

    • In-depth knowledge of home inspection industry
    • What comprises a home inspection, what is included and what is not included in the inspection.
    • Record keeping and reporting systems
    • Marketing your home inspection business
    • Professionalism needed
    • Realtor/client relationships
    • Environmental Issues
    • Code Issues

    Participants will, upon successful completion of this unique 80-hour course, have the tools needed to establish and succeed in a home inspection business. The class will meet for 5 consecutive weekends from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or for 2 consecutive weeks Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Course Objectives Include:

    • Cite the ASHI & NAHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
    • Explain the importance of structural issues (grading, foundations, roofing, and structure) to a client.
    • Identify and cover exterior cladding and insulation as they pertain to the inspection process. The electrical inspection and process, along with safety issues, will be discussed.
    • Recall the system components and inspection techniques for residential electrical, HVAC, plumbing system, roofing, foundations, and interior and exterior housing components.
    • Discuss in detail the interior inspection and organization of the interior inspection process
    • Write a home inspection report, discuss record keeping, marketing and professionalism
    • Develop a marketing plan based on recommended activities from the course.
    • List helpful resources for additional learning that will arise.
  • Inspecting electrical panels and sub-panels. Overhead wiring installations. Service conductors and weather heads. Circuit installations and wiring requirements.

  • Advanced Insulation

    Covers typical insulation and ventilation problems, their causes and practical implications, inspection strategies for finding them, installation issues, and improvement and repair options.

    Basics of heat transfer and vapor movement are covered first to lay the groundwork for discussion of insulation and ventilation materials, systems and applications.

  • Advanced Plumbing

    Evaluating old and new plumbing systems. Recognizing materials, water heating requirements and installations, functional flow and drainage.

  • Advanced Structure

    Organized into major sections on Footings and Foundations, Floors, Walls, and Roof Framing, this course is designed both for beginners who need an in-depth introduction to structure inspection and more advanced practitioners looking to deepen their understanding.

    In addition to structure problems, their practical implications, and inspection strategies for finding them, this course includes a general strategy for tackling the difficult issue of cracks.

  • This course is a brief overview of environmental issues which may come up in a home inspection. For the beginner or advanced inspector who needs to know what they may need to recommend to client for additional consulation of a professional in the environmental sciences. Covers: asbestos, radon, EMF, Mold, Lead, and Urea Formaldehyde.

  • This 4 hour on-line course covers the unexpected hazards that nobody talks about and should! The hazards of handling a home that has been used as a Meth Lab; poisonous plants, animals, and insects that real estate industry professionals my encounter. This course covers what to look for and what to do. Great for: Inspectors, Appraisers, Investors and Real Estate Agents. Designed by industry professionals who have "been there" and really "done that".

  • This 5 hour on-line course is designed for the real estate community. Whether you are an agent, broker, appraiser, inspector or investor, this class is fast-paced, practical information put together by leaders in the mold inspection business.

  • This course provides the foundations of main issues in weatherization. The first part of the course covers energy usage history, policy-related issues, and sources of energy. The second part of the course provides a basic understanding of how to measure usage, techniques for retrofitting buildings to improve efficiency, and the importance of addressing the indoor environmental quality as part of a weatherization or retrofitting project.

  • This course will introduce students to the fundamentals of solar energy by exploring the role of energy in modern society, renewable and non-renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and conservation, solar photovoltaic technology, the solar industry, sizing and pricing residential PV systems, and the role of solar energy in today's real estate environment.

  • This course introduces fundamental concepts of green building design and delivery, as well as the various systems used in green buildings. Course materials lay a solid foundation for decisions related to the design and construction of a green building, from materials selection to considering the use of natural systems for wastewater processing.

    The course addresses both institutional and residential structures, and emphasis is placed on understanding practical, working systems used in the structures. The LEED certification process is briefly addressed from within the context of understanding how it affects building design decisions. The student will apply cost/benefit analyses as part of proposal justifications for green building projects.
