Legislative Summary
A) Complete 40 clock hours of prescribed education. B) Complete high school or equivalent.
Renews every 2 years. To remain on active status, the licensed/registered home inspector must complete 24 hours of approved continuing education by December 31^st of the year the license/registration expires. If the education is not completed by the expiration of the license/registration, the home inspector must return the license/registration to the SD Real Estate Commission and be place on inactive status until the educational requirements are met.
